Bright Star Occupational & Physical Therapy
Bright Star Occupational & Physical Therapy provides school-based therapy services designed to help students feel confident, capable, and successful in their school environment. We work in partnership with school districts to support students as they learn, grow, and participate throughout the school day.
Our team of caring, licensed therapists works directly within school settings to support the skills students need for classroom learning, transitions, playground activities, and physical education. We focus on building the functional abilities that make everyday school activities easier and more accessible, including motor development, coordination, strength, endurance, posture, mobility, and fine and visual-motor skills.
At Bright Star, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to participate fully in their school experience. Our goal is to support schools and families by helping students build the skills they need to thrive—while providing districts with dependable, high-quality therapy services they can count on.
Developmental delays
Children who are not meeting developmental milestones in areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care skills may benefit from occupational therapy and physical therapist.
Physical disabilities
Children with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or muscular dystrophy may need occupational therapy and physical therapy to help them learn adaptive strategies and develop strength and coordination.
Sensory processing disorders
Some children have difficulty processing sensory information, which can affect their ability to participate in everyday activities. Occupational therapists and physical therapist can help children with sensory processing disorders learn to regulate their responses to sensory input and improve their ability to function in various environments.
Learning disabilities
Children with learning disabilities such as dyslexia or ADHD may struggle with tasks such as handwriting, organization, and time management. Occupational therapy can provide strategies to help these children improve their academic performance and succeed in school. Physical therapists can provide gross motor activities to strengthen brain-body connections that influence spatial awareness, rhythm, timing, and even aspects of reading and writing..
Autism spectrum disorders
Children with autism often have difficulty with social skills, communication, and sensory processing. Occupational and Physical therapists can work with these children to develop social skills, improve communication abilities, and address sensory sensitivities.
